When selecting a young author in the second edition of BALKAN PHOTOGRAPHIC FORUM - PRED MEN, 2009 faced with lots of good candidates across the country that our most difficult decision and in this year's forum will give a unique opportunity for expression and representation in various forms of two young authors. This is a student in photography at the National Academy for Theater  and Film Arts - Rossen Vassilev and 16 year-old Miroslav Zhivkov from Gabrovo. 

Here's what Miroslav Zhivkov wrote: 


'Hello! My name is Miroslav Zhivkov Petrov and I am 16 years old. Teach in the National School Aprilovska Gimnazia - Gabrovo. Year and a half to deal with photography. Namely, it seriously has become one of the things that I want to bother in the future, to develop and perfection, reaching peaks, which many people dream about. 
I never expected that one day I will pluck photography so much. It is like insects, everything else happens among others. 
I am a fan of analogue photography, medium format, especially the good result:). 
Once I felt the pleasure of shooting with a camera ... so I started to dive and save on spending money to can order films and equipment from the Internet. I hope to be agreed upon in the following Balkan Photographic Forum, because I believe strongly that it will give me a serious boost in my future development!'

Rossen Vassilev, the second fotographer, begins to engage with photography 5 years ago when it gains a small digital camera, which started the first experiments in photography and steps. His willing for new passion led him to record a one-year course at the National Academy for Theater and Film Arts, where he studied basic concepts and techniques introduced by film and operation in the laboratory. Wish to develop in this field gives him the strength to prepare for a short period of examinations at the academy, where he studied at the moment. 

In a cover letter to the organizers of Photographic BALKAN PHOTOGRAPHIC FORUM - PRED MEN, 2009 Rosen writes: 'The reason to declare my willingness to participate in the forum is the ability to continue to learn and develop in this direction, I think that working with photographers that rank will inevitably lead to that. '
